Meet Our Growers
We believe working with an organic produce distributor allows farmers to focus their efforts on the farm while providing broader access to the marketplace. We share consumer trends with our growers to help guide crop planning and assist new farmers with pack type and labeling requirements. We strive to maximize the return made to our farmers. By maintaining the farm label throughout our business transactions, we ensure customers always know what farm they are supporting.
Our farmland encompasses beautiful coastal valleys in northern Santa Cruz County. Route 1 farms the land in harmony with nature and our workers; we use compost, cover crops, beneficial habitat creation, and crop diversity and rotations. Our trucks and tractors run on biodiesel and our walk-in cooler and warehouse are powered by solar electricity.
