    We are looking for CDL Drivers who are:

    • AVAILABLE to work early morning hours and weekends; start times vary from Midnight – 5:00 AM
    • Reliable, cooperative, diligent, and efficient, with good customer service skills
    • Able to work both independently and as team members
    • Proficient in basic math and have good communication skills
    • Able to lift up to 55 lbs

    Responsibilities:

    • Valid commercial Class A driver’s license and DOT medical card and be an insurable driver
    • Strong understanding of driver safety protocols
    • Knowledge of relevant Federal and State (DOT) hours of service regulations

    • Understanding of acceptable produce quality at both pick-up and delivery points

    Qualifications:

    • Thoroughly prepare for the truck run by reviewing all paperwork, conducting vehicle inspections, and gathering all required materials prior to departure.
    • Accurately complete all paperwork.
    • Following established routes, effectively deliver produce and/or freight. Meet established customer deadlines and ensure security of product en-route and at the customer site.
    • Establish positive relationships with customers and vendors.
    • Monitor equipment condition and performance, proactively identify potential mechanical problems.
    • Maintain vehicle in clean and working condition.
    • Proficiently use all department electronic devices.
    • Follow all procedures to ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations.
    • Operate all equipment safely incorporating defensive driving techniques, basic on-the-road courtesy, and considering weather conditions, to reduce the risk of accidents.
    • Ensure proper loading and securing of product to prevent movement or damage in transport.
    • Follow established accident procedures.
    • Understand VV’s safety policies, procedures and best practices and comply with safe use of equipment, safe lifting practices and food safety requirements.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

  • Delivery Driver & Day Warehouse Support

    Our Class C Sprinter Van Drivers deliver fresh organic produce to stores and restaurants. Local routes operate within San Francisco and surrounding cities. Our Day Warehouse Support works with team members to receive and warehouse fresh organic produce in a safe, accurate and timely manner while maintaining high quality standards with minimal product loss. The position reports to the Day Warehouse Supervisor and Trucking Manager and takes direction from Day Warehouse Team Leads.

  • Green Fleet Trucking Manager

    Veritable Vegetable (VV) is a women-owned and led organic produce distribution company based in San Francisco, California. Established in 1974, we source and deliver the freshest and highest quality produce.

    We are looking for a highly organized and experienced Trucking Manager to manage and coordinate our complex private/for-hire trucking operation, support our regional and local drivers, and ensure the highest levels of safety, customer service and environmental sustainability. This position partners with our Fleet Manager and reports to our Trucking Director.

    Our trucking department employs 30+ drivers, operating company owned Sprinter Vans, Class B bobtails, short and long trailers, day cabs and full-sized sleepers. We operate seven days a week, 365 days a year.

    All candidates should have extensive experience within the transportation industry, managing a diverse workforce and robust workflow, as well as experience designing and implementing new department procedures.

    • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail within a multi-tasking environment.
    • Be certified and proficient on all material handling equipment.
    • Be able to communicate effectively and work closely with staff members in other departments.
    • Have the capacity and desire for engagement in the physical work of Warehouse operations.
    • Have an excellent record of timeliness and attendance.

    Our Warehouse Team builds organic produce orders for customers. Duties include receiving fresh produce picked up from farms, organizing and storing produce in the coolers and assembling pallet orders for delivery to customers.
