Old Dog Ranch Family Farm is a fifth-generation family farm specializing in growing, harvesting, and ‘adding value’ to organic walnuts. The Sitkin family has lived and farmed on the ranch since 1912; today Mollie Sitkin manages the 10-acre orchard and runs the operation, along with a three-person crew. The ranch is situated on the Calaveras River in California’s San Joaquin Valley where the climate and soil conditions are perfect for cultivating high-quality walnuts.

Old Dog Ranch grows the classic Chandler variety for their excellent flavor, golden color, and easy-to-crack shells. The Chandler flowers later than other varieties, making them naturally resistant to winter frost damage and rainy-season blight. Old Dog Ranch offers a range of organic walnut products, including raw walnuts, roasted walnuts, walnut butters, and hand-made snacking walnuts in several yummy flavors.

Mollie is proud to source certified organic and sustainably grown ingredients from her family’s farm and other local producers. Peppers grown at Old Dog Ranch are smoked over pruned walnut branches to flavor the walnut snacks. Honey for walnut butters comes from the ranch’s own hives. Other local farms and family-owned businesses supply organic Meyer lemons, organic rosemary, and cocoa.

In 2021, Old Dog Ranch become the first Regenerative Organic Certified ™ walnut farm.

Fun Fact: The ranch is named for the two of the family’s beloved, long-lived canine companions.
