Ram’s Farm

Baja California Sur

Ram’s Farm, a 35+ acre farm located in Baja California Sur, is focused on hand-pollinated organic tomatoes and peppers. Surrounded on three sides by oceans, the farm has an island-like climate allowing three more months of production than the mainland.

Founded in 2005, the farm is owned by Rafaela Crevoshay and Haim Ram. They use net houses, like a greenhouse but with fine netting, which filters the tropical sun, allows the ocean breezes to keep the temperature cool, and keeps insects out. The net houses are highly mobile and can be moved easily around the farm and can be taken down during hurricane season. Each house is about one acre; they are planted in succession to provide extended harvest periods.

Haim, an Israeli immigrant, is the former plant-nutrition advisor for World Bank and is a strong proponent of the health benefits of organic growing. He’s worked in agriculture in Latin America and the Caribbean for over 35 years. Haim is the lead farmer at Ram’s and lives on-site. He prepares their own blend of compost tea to apply to the plants.

Rafaela manages all sales and distribution and is based in Southern California. They’ve worked together for 15 years, when Rafaela convinced Haim to switch from conventional to organic production and start Ram’s farm with her.

Their outstanding quality heirloom tomato pack consists of four proven varieties, selected for contrasting color, but primarily for flavor. Handpicked and handled with care, Ram’s Farm delivers real ‘old time’ tomato flavor! Ram’s Farm’s produce is available in the Bay Area exclusively through VV.
