In 1984, the Duncan Family started Cal-Organic Farms in Lamont, California with a quarter acre of lettuce and the determination to do things differently. More than three decades later, they’ve grown to produce more than sixty-five seasonal and year-round vegetables and they’ve been able to increase their organic acreage year after year. They now operate on over 40,000-acres of certified organic California farmland from the San Joaquin Valley to the southern Coachella and Imperials Valleys. Cal-Organic is now one of the largest organic vegetable producers in the United States.
