Hodo was founded by Minh Tsai and John Notz in 2004. Minh wanted to introduce the delicious tofu and yuba he grew up eating in Vietnam to the local community. He started selling at farmer’s markets in the San Francisco Bay Area 18 years ago and grew the business from there. Hodo products quickly became must-have ingredients for renowned chefs, and today they are sold in over 2,000 locations – everywhere from Chipotle to Michelin Star restaurants.

The West Oakland, California based company is proud to bring over 130 jobs to the community, and dozens of nutritious organic products to local farmers markets, restaurants and retailers.

Hodo has been named a finalist for the 2022 Acterra Sustainable Food Systems Leadership Award, recognized for its handcrafted, minimally processed, and zero-waste methods of production.
