Marian Farms believes in three things: growing great food, crafting fine spirits and caring for the earth.

Gena Nonini is the third generation of her family to farm and steward the 75-acre Marian Farms property. Her grandfather arrived in Fresno in 1900 from the Northern Italian Alps, where he had been both a dairy farmer and grape grower. His son continued the family tradition, which Gena carries forward today.

When Gena first learned about Biodynamic agriculture, she was struck by both the quality of the food and the people she met who were practicing it. That experience inspired Marian Farms to embrace Biodynamic farming. Many of the farm’s practices are rooted in time-tested methods, including making compost and using Biodynamic preparations to build healthy, living soil. Gena also shares her knowledge with younger farmers, helping introduce a new generation to this sustainable, ecological approach to agriculture.

Marian Farms partnered with VV early on to bring its sweet grapes and delicious almonds to customers. Today, the farm’s oranges, almonds, raisins and grapes are sold exclusively through VV in the Bay Area.
