The Juicing Gents
Pauma Valley, CA https://www.thejuicinggents.com/The Juicing Gents, owned by brothers Gerard and Frank Villalobos, is located in the heart of Pauma Valley in North San Diego County. Pauma Valley’s unique microclimate—hot days and cool nights—creates the perfect environment for growing citrus, while the region’s rocky soil promotes excellent drainage, ensuring the health of their trees. The farm, established by their parents in 1981, and formally known as Pauma Valley Citrus, has now been passed on to Gerard and Frank, who manage the day-to-day operations.
Both brothers were active in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and Gerard’s interest in juicing began as a high school project designed to help move more produce. Their passion for farming has grown since returning after college to help their mother run the farm. Today, they continue to grow and pack citrus for nationwide distribution while expanding into juicing as a central part of the family business. The farm’s multi-generational history, commitment to quality, and deep connection to their roots continue to shape their farming philosophy.
The family farm spans 25 acres devoted to Valencia, Morro Blood and Minneola Oranges, Pink Grapefruit, Eureka Lemons, Passion Fruit and Guava, with 10 acres of land left unplanted. The Villalobos brothers are dedicated to organic farming methods, biological pest control, integrated pest management, and other sustainable practices that prioritize long term soil health and biodiversity.
