Veliz Organic Family Farm is a 17-acre organic farm located along California’s Central Coast in Hollister, California. The farm is a family-run operation, and is owned by Junior Veliz, along with his sister Rocio, and father, Ascencion.

With over three decades of farming expertise under his belt, Ascension started Veliz Organic Family Farm in 2017. Many members of the Veliz family previously worked on the ever-popular Frazier Lake Farm, another longstanding VV supplier, until the owner retired, spurring the Veliz family to establish their own operation. Although they started with just 3 acres, the Veliz’s have been so successful that they are expanding to 20 acres. Growing organically was always a priority for Ascencion, which is why the farm has been organic from day one.

Veliz Organic Family Farm has been an exclusive grower for Veritable Vegetable since they first started, and we are proud to partner with them as they continue to grow and expand their farm. Due to the rising cost of water during the drought, Junior, Rocio, and Ascension must plan crop rotations very carefully to be viable; some popular vegetables, such as zucchini, have not been profitable in recent years. Their focus on quality and flavor has earned them a cult following season after season. They run a local CSA box program and are active at many Farmer’s Markets. All Veliz grown produce is hand planted, and hand-picked, with only their best product making it to market.
