Wild River

Sacramento Valley, California http://wildriverfruit.com/

The Wild River name was inspired by their farm’s location alongside the Yuba River, which surges out of the rugged Sierra Nevada Mountains into the fertile Sacramento Valley in Northern California. For more than a century, gold miners, politicians, and farmers have tried to tame the 10-year flood cycle of the Yuba River’s south fork. Their family took a different approach. Led by their patriarch, Gordon Noland, they progressively changed their agricultural practices to adapt to the nuances and rhythm of the river. As a result, Wild River’s orchards and vineyards thrive, naturally nourished by the highly fertile, nutrient-rich topsoil deposited by the river’s overflow. Their 300-acres of orchards have been certified organic since 1991. The Noland family has farmed the land for five decades; 2020 celebrates their 55th anniversary.

Wild River takes a responsible and sustainable approach to stewardship of the land and has always believed in the virtues of organic farming. Their hands have designed the state of the art irrigation system, planted, pruned, and harvested the fruit.  Unlike large corporate farms, they know the provenance of each piece that carries the Wild River label. They proudly guarantee their product’s incomparable quality for all to enjoy.
