Summer is in full swing, and so are the season’s most striking blooms from Thomas Family Farm. We’re thrilled to offer fresh straight packs of Dahlia, Safflower, Marigold, and Sunflower—perfect for bringing vibrant color and texture to floral sets, displays, and seasonal promotions.
Dahlias are just beginning to shine, showing off with bold, eye-catching hues and whimsical shapes. These blooms add instant fullness and drama to any bouquet or display.
Safflowers stand out with their golden-orange, spikey petals. Yes, this is the same plant used to produce safflower oil! These flowers dry beautifully and are a favorite among florists for their texture and earthy, untamed look.
Marigolds with their radiant golds and oranges, bring more than just beauty—they carry deep cultural and spiritual meaning. In India, marigolds are used in religious ceremonies and festivals to honor deities, symbolize the sun, and represent purity and devotion. In Mexico, marigolds, or cempasúchil, are sacred flowers of remembrance, central to Día de los Muertos altars and traditions, guiding spirits with their vibrant color and distinctive scent.
Sunflowers are long lasting, bright and cheery and are enjoyed world-wide as an ornamental as well as a nutritious food. Look at
any sunflower blossom and it’s no surprise where the name comes from. First domesticated in Mexico over 5, 000 years ago, but cultivated all across the continent, Native Americans used the seeds in bread, medicinal ointments, and dyes. Sunflower seeds were carried to Europe from the Americas in the 16th century, where, along with sunflower oil, they became a widespread cooking ingredient. We know them as a popular snack food, roasted or raw, or processed into a peanut butter alternative.
Fun Fact: The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. Over 60% of world production is in Ukraine & Russia combined.
Rooted in tradition and bursting with color, these flowers are grown with care by Thomas Family Farm and are a stunning way to celebrate the spirit of summer. Add them to your set and let their beauty, and meaning, bloom.
